Carbon Neutrality Compatible Building

Definition of the technical trajectory for buildings that are compatible with the Paris Agreements

Europe wants to establish the idea of (Zero Emission Building) and accelerate the pace of decarbonisation (fit for 55). The principles of carbon accounting are still to be fully defined but the clock is ticking and there is no time for delay: low carbon operations are flourishing and low carbon levers are multiplying, sometimes quietly without always announcing their environmental impacts. The members of IFPEB wanted to draw up an outline for a building that “does its bit” and propose a timeline with a trajectory compatible with the Paris agreements: the levers of decarbonisation and objectives can be fixed.  This is not an accreditation or a certification but a process that sets out a definitive path towards carbon neutrality. We are proposing a timeline that can be widely deployed operationally.    Programme :

  • Paris Agreements: summary of the progress being made across Europe and at a national level
  • Net Zero Initiative: principles and news
  • Presentation of the “Carbon Neutrality Compatible Building”
  • Intensification of usage: lessons learnt at BNP Paribas Real Estate
  • Round table n°1 : building a carbon neutral trajectory, case study: CRREM
